  1. Hi, Thanks for your advice. I appreciate your response and I look forward to future posts from you.
  2. i don't care who eats who...i gave you my opinion very friendly..i am sorry for doing that..good luck.. elena, please don't get me wrong, i appreciate all of the advice you've given. maybe i should have posted this question in a seperate thread because it wasn't directed towards you. i appreciate your taking the time to respond. this question has been one that my friends and i have discussed for some time now and i just wanted to get the opinions of others regarding it. forgive me if you were offended, i certainly didn't want to do that. please don't stop offering advice; it is well-intentioned and appreciated.:wink2:
  3. Hey guys, I totally understand that experience is needed, but do you think that critical care or the ER cannot be handled by a new RN? I know that these areas are demanding, but I know graduates who are in both critical care and the ED and they are doing well thanks to great prefects and hard work. I welcome the discussion. I was hoping to get some advice on hospitals, but I guess that isn't what everyone wants to talk about. Since we are on a different topic, I do have a question for everyone. I have had nurse educators tell us that nursing is one of the only professions where the mothers (older, more experienced nurses) eat their young (new, graduate nurses). Unfortunately, it is something both myself and other students have noticed also. What do you think? Why is this the case?
  4. Thanks for your concern, but it is unfair to assume that she has no experience.

  6. Thanks for your concern, but I have worked in hospitals for the last seven years and am currently working In a great hospital in NY. I've worked on med-surg units for the last two years I am looking forward to continuing to build on the experience that I have.
  7. I am a senior nursing student in NY and live in Bethlehem, PA. When I graduate in May, I plan on working in western NJ, somewhere close to PA, possibly off of Route 22 or I-78 and wanted to know great hospitals for ER and/or ICU nurses. Since there are so many crital care specialties I will most probably find myself in SICU, MICU or CICU. I need to start looking, but the prospect of finding a job in a new state is more daunting than I had expected. I would appreciate any and all responses as well as tips on settling in the area. Thanks so much. I appreciate reading all of the responses and look forward to reading all of yours.

  9. I live in Brooklyn, NY and I am currently completing my pre-requisites for a nursing program. I need to know if anyone has heard of Molloy College's nursing program and what you know about it. I don't necessarily want to wait until September to begin nursing school, seeing that I have all of the pre-requisites needed for Molloy. I was taking additional classes to prepare for another school's nursing program. Please let me know what you guys may know. Thanks so much. P.S. - Does it matter what school you receive your B.S. in Nursing from when it is time to find a job? I am really hung up on a school's name, but I am wondering if this is crazy. Thanks for everyone's help.
