  1. Everyone, thanks for your replies! I had about lost faith in online schools because I've heard nasty opinions from RNs who graduated from "brick and mortar" schools. Again, thanks for the great suggestions, I will follow your advice!
  2. Hi, here's my concern.... I'm graduating from my LPN program this fall and looking at local bridge programs but discouraged by the amount of time it's going to take to complete them. As of now, I'm top of my class with a 4.0 and graduated with a Criminal Justice degree & a 4.0-I'm very self disciplined and feel that I have enough school hours under my belt. HOWEVER, I don't want to mess up by completing an online bridge program that employers won't accept/recognize, or even the state for that matter. I'd like to hear from Excelsior/online grads, I want to hear their stories, opinions, job opportunities they've had or lack of. Please help!
  3. I'm completing my LPN education and planning for my RN. I'd like to hear from anyone whose in transition or considering it also. I'm torn between attending a traditional classroom or taking online courses. Online courses are more expensive, but I like the flexibility (I plan on working) and that there's no waiting list. Please share your own pros/cons and opinions, thanks!
  4. I'm in nursing school and we were discussing home health nursing. My instructor is an RN with home health experience, but I want a LPNs perspective. If you're home health nurse... 1. How many patients do you see a day? 2. How many days a week do you work? 3. What are your duties? 4. Compensation? (if you don't mind sharing)
  5. After completing my prerequisites, I've been accepted into the LPN program at a local state college. The program is rumored to be tough, but I'm not too worried about academics because I'm a recent college grad w/ a 4.0. I'm mostly concerned about how demanding the program is. The director warned me that the course requires 60 hours a week between classes, homework, and clinical's. Does this sound right? I have a two year old whose very demanding and her father works two jobs so he's not around much to help with her and the house. I also do in-home parties for ladies on the weekends to make ends meet. Can it be done? Is it possible to complete nursing school and manage a busy life? Please share your experiences and let me know what to expect! Thanks.
  6. Hi there! I'm in the applicant pool for the LPN program beginning this fall and need insight from those who've been here before. First, the admissions interview--any advice?? What questions can I expect to be asked? Another thing...I have great grades, great references, BUT I have NO medical background. My education is in Criminal Justice and I've worked in sales my entire life. Is now the time to get a volunteer job at the hospital? Any advice is appreciated! Thank you!
