  1. I would recommend taking anatomy & physiology and organic & biochem. I took physics in high school and don't find it useful (granted I'm not done with school yet). Organic & biochem was a pre-requisite for my nursing program. Taking the class in high school would give you some good background knowledge to make college courses that much easier.
  2. Thanks ladies. What do you mean when you say endorse your license?
  3. I'm graduating in August. I currently am attending school in Michigan. I assume that I have to take the NCLEX here in MI and get my licensure in MI. What happens if I get a job in another state? How do I go about getting licensure in the other state? Do I have to be licensed in MI first? Any information you can give me would be great. This is all clearly new to me. I know I could get a job in MI if I wanted to work just anywhere but I want to work in the NICU and we only have 2 decent ones in the state that I'm aware of. The local one isn't hiring right now and the other one is on the other side of the state and I don't care to live there....the job market sucks so my husband wouldn't be able to get a job real easily. Anyways, I was just wondering how I would go about dealing with the licensure issue.
  4. I am going to be graduating in August. We were told that it would be a good time to start looking for jobs. I really want to work in NICU and don't think I'd be satisfied working in any other unit. I have listened to what you all have said in the past about starting out in NICU if that's where you want to be so that's my intention. How do I go about doing that? What do you all suggest? Should I just start applying? Any suggestions on how to increase my chances of getting a good position in the NICU?
