  1. Hello Mumpet5, thanks for your reply. Are you a LVN or LPN?
  2. Hello Char, I fully understand your frustration on Hospital bureaucracy. I've recently went into home health and so far it's been a good experience. If you are a dedicated, organized person, you'll do fine. There is alot of paperwork, but nothing one can't handle. I am looking for LVN's and a couple of RN's, you know anyone in Southern New Mexico?
  3. My experience so far with the agency I am helping start off has been wondeful. I expect that my input will help make it a success, and that I can bring aboard quality, dedicated, and well organized RN's, LVN's, etc.. If you know anyone in southern NM that would be good to talk too, let me know. Nurworld
  4. Home Care is a good thing for many nurses, lvn's, and cna's. I must agree on several comments; first it is up to you as an individual to manage your time wisely and be organized. Secondly, it's a good feeling to be able to manage your patient care in accordance to your love in the field of nursing. I, personnally hated the bureaucracy in a hospital and really enjoy having more one on one with my patients. I've only been a D.O.N. for a home health agency for a month, and already I look forward to putting in place the right team for this agency. If one schedules accordingly and hires enough staff you can cover different areas with LVN's and RN's together... Las Cruces NM--- Nurworld
  5. mingez, i too am growing to like the Las Cruces area. It's only been a month or so since I took on my job as D.O.N. for a home health. Along with putting my professional nursing skills to work, I also manage LVN's, CNA's, and soon other nurses. I am currently working on staffing the agency with the right RN's, LVN's, and CNA's, do you know where i can go to find these people? I have contacted both dabcc, and nmsu for help as well and postings.
  6. Sharkiern, Im not sure why he would have been told that. As nurses, we know what we are worth. Since I've joined the home health agency in Las Cruces, I've been very happy. I like the one on one attention I am able to give the patient and the chance to manage my work load and tasks with out any political involvments from co-workers like in big employers. I am the DON and am always looking for good people - send him my way; we'll take care of him.

Hello rngold, I live in El Paso and have recently joined a new home health agency in Las Cruces. Don't know much of Memorial Hospital, but what i can tell you is that I enjoy the people, culture, and the many things to do around the area. I think you'll like NM in general...
