Thank you so much for your support this is just the type of nursing team that I have tried to advocate. That we all stick together and support one another. It's tuff enough when the administration chooses to become seperatist then split the staff. It's hard to work as a nurse and provide the best care when they keep their actions going to denigrate,lower our worthy ness and for what reason???? I have my opinion on this........

:roll Yes Yes .Most excellent action and reply to this tuff army man .Sounds like he was more afraid of the needle and having blood drawn. and the RN well she gets my respect because she's not afraid to point out the qualifications of the LPN. Therefore she does respect you for your abilities .Not in nursing for the money, control,power.

That is exactly the thought that I would like to further that the LPN should have additional training and certification. Directed only to the further education of the LPN. Such things occured with the RN here in upstate new York in there specialty They became RNC as they were certified in the specialty that they were working.

Reference that the professional organization is the only way to exact real change. Not so, we LPN's need to speak out in a loud voice what we want and we can call legislators ,media,etc. and put in motion what we want and deserve.This would be working with the organizations that can come up with policies for the betterment of the LPN ONLY.......

I agree with you of blatant reference in commercials that RN's are the only real nurses. It does present a mindset that is the only true worthy nurse.LPN's left out of equation thus the public ,corporate,legal view . Johnson and Johnson's commercial "I'm a nurse" and shows RN's only. Goes further to state be a nurse. Leaving LPN as floating around in the mind as just there and tolerated. But LPN's know there abilities and do a spectacular job and we make a difference in our residents /pts live

mc3 This is exactly the kind of disgraceful thinking towards the LPN's that I have been talking about. :angryfire I'm thinking that this is subjective thinking on the RN and Administration based on fear and need for control and power for their own distorted thinking . I believe that this reflects negitively on the nursing profession as a whole . I'm sorry that we have to deal with the politics of our profession . But... so be it

nursekhat, It's how you view yourself . That you are a professional and valuable member of health care team. This is what i want all LPN's to present. BE PROUD OF YOUR ACCOMPLISHMENT......

Hello skantc You are absolutely right in saying to HOLD OUR HEADS UP HIGH. and.....I do now because I have learned to do so. I accept the additional responsability . This is why I want to raise consiousness of the policy makers . That lpn's can and do perform these skills with integrity for the profession.

Hi there I can see in the post that I read. All the pride and how you value being an LPN . How your chosen field has really made you happy .Hope this continues this is the type of thinking the LPN should have . Maybe find a button that says proud to be an LPN. That might start making people notice initially . I know that I am proud of my title ,yes it is a title, and I want to get the policy makers to also pay attention to us. Provide the education specific to LPN. Maybe CLPN ,clinical lpn . maybe you could come up with more titles. Yes I wanted to get my RN. But life got in the way and lack of money. Also I have the knowledge . I'm still learning and I can apply that knowledge . I never stopped learning . I just don't have the paper that said I did learn. I think it is how you look at and think about your knowledge in nursing and how you apply it to your practice. I have been a nurse for 26 years and I am a nurse .

We, LPN'S need to speak up more and grab the attention of administrators,Legislators, (State and Federal) Governors ,the public and anybody else who views the RN as the only true nurse. Just the same way the RN gained their respect in the 80's and 90's . The LPN is a well trained ,valuable member of the health care community. Patient and resident oriented health care provider. We observe s/s ,status change, improved or declining. organize and follow thru with presented problems . To insure the best outcome for that individual. Incorporating the the health care TEAM. I say LPN'S ARE VALUABLE NURSES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
