  1. cynthia Next quarter I will have three days of classess and two clinical days. The clinicals wont be every week, but a total of 10 days totalling 120hrs. I think. I dont think that I will be totally clear on that until I actually do it. We have breaks between classes, which is lunch for about 1hr20min. The instructors also give us about ten minutes every hour to stretch and P etc... I am commuting from south Denver. Lone Tree area. I take the light rail every day. It takes about 40min. The light rail is awsome. I can sit and study/flashcards and glance at the poor souls driving. There is 0 stress on the light rail. Hopefully the rail will go north soon. Craig
  2. Time consuming. Classes Monday to Friday. Monday, Thursday and Friday are all day long. Tuesday and Wednesday are only half day labs. I have lab in the afternoon with half of the class and the other half has class in the morning. There are no classes online. Attendence is required for all class. It ends up being about 19cr hours. There is one person in class who took pathophysiology before attending DSoN and she does not have to take it now. I think this would save alot of time. I study every night, or do a project every night related to school. In all honesty though, I probably am not the most effective studier. I think most people would agree in my class that studying takes most of our free time. I dont mind the work though. Everything I learn now will help me later. Some people work and go to school. Some people have small children. They seem to make it work. Let me know if you have more questions. Craig
  3. I started in January of this year. It seems to be a really good school. All of my teachers are really top notch and take the time to chat about any concerns. I will say to you though that it is really time consuming, challenging and a bit stressful. But I would be disappointed if it wasn't. Good luck to you. Craig
  4. I had the same question. I went to DSW to look for some shoes then decided to call my brother in law who is a PT. He suggested going to a quality/reputable shoe store with people who know feet. Have them look at your feet and help you out. Danskos work for alot of people, running shoes work for alot of people...... There are twice as many feet as people you ask. I will be heading down to Runners roost to talk feet in the next couple of days. Remember, they fit feet for a job. Tell them what you are using them for. Craig
  5. i forgot to post this, here is a blog site of a friend of mine who is going through the same thing. http://teamtumorerradication.blogspot.com/ peace craig
  6. So very sorry to hear about your son. I am a huge Lance Armstrong fan so I know that these things can be overcome. I wish you the best of luck. As for RNsane- You should be ashamed of yourself. I did not read at all that she was asking for advice, only information. I thought about your post all night and felt that I should say something. Craig
  7. I cant help it, my grandparents are super cool. Grandad is 93 and still drives. They live in North platte NE. I will be attending Denver School of Nursing starting Jan 8th. Super excited. I have been shooting at this goal for 3 years and hopefully have saved enough money. Thanks for the luck and answers. Craig
  8. Hey all- I am starting nursing school next week so please excuse my ignorance. Over Thanksgiving my grandmother, 90yrs, fell and broke her pelvis. While in the hospital she came down with a bladder infection and was given antibiotics while in LTC. Now she has Cdif and has had problems with this for three weeks now. It seems she keeps getting more anti-biotics to take care of it. Is there any way to have a pro-biotic treatment program to out compete the Cdif? Or use this in conjunction with anti-biotics? My grandmother is really awsome so its hard to see her uncomfortable. Thanks for the advice. Craig
  9. If you have time, some colleges let you take classes over, and they will set the origional grade to Null. Its a good option I think, you learn so much more the second time. I found statistics to be very interesting. It can be used to prove or disprove any point depending on how creative the user is. By knowing statistics you can tell if somebody is being completely honest with their numbers. Just a thought. Congrats on teaching yourself though, you have to be proud of that even if you did earn a C+. Craig
  10. I will be starting DSN in January. 9 days from today. WOOOHOOO. I am moving down from Steamboat springs CO to do this. I will post if anything unusual happens. Craig
