IF for some reason you COULDN'T be a CRNA what area of nursing...
I'm with the majority here. I would probably go back to real estate, or go get a degree in an unrelated field. By the time I started my program, I was done with being a staff nurse. CRNA school is the BEST thing that ever happened to me! I absolutely love the path I have taken!

How long your classes last first semester?
I would consider moving closer to school. Even if only temporary, the money spent for an apartment close to school is well worth the time you will save on your commute. You will need that time to study and prepare for classes or clinical. There are students in my program who commute 1 to 1.5 hours, and they seem to manage it ok. Most end up staying in the area overnight on clinical days.

How long your classes last first semester?
I just started in September. Our program front-loads a one month long introduction to anesthesia course. I was in class from 8-4 Monday through Friday. There were tests several times a week, so I spent ALL of my free time studying for the next day. I logged a minimum of 8 hours each day on the weekends doing something school related. Now that September is over, it has eased slightly. I still go to class Monday-Friday, and I put in a few hours every day studying. I never had to work hard at school related things....until now. But, the prize at the end is well worth the work!

BSN or Bachelors in Biology???
If you want to take the safe route, go with the BSN. It will earn you a wider choice of schools to which you may apply. Also, my MSN program requires you to take the boring stuff right along with anesthesia courses....theory, stats, research, etc. I had these in my RN/BSN program. I am finding that because I already took the courses, the MSN versions of the same are easier for me to handle. Just a thought! Good luck!
