Univ of Wa School of Nursing - Fall 2007
Good lucks to you too, Ebouster. I'm also one of the few males on Feb 20th session. I'm so happy to see more and more male students interest in nursing. My background, experiences, with my passion for nursing brought me to nursing while I've friends whose are nurses&providers at hospitals/clinics to support me. I've plans ahead: either in nursing school for Fall2007 if accepted or going to Asia on one of the medical missions. However, does anyone know any particular medical mission to Vietnam that I'm unawared of? One of my goal being a nurse is that I can join some medical missions especially those would utilize my skills as a nurse and my bilingual skills. I knew KFV (kidsfirstvietnam - locally in Bainbridge) but I can only donate and not join their missions.

Greetings LC3, The proctored essay went very well. This year the essay emphasizes on conflict of patient and staff & action in role as a nurse, the essay lasts 1 hour. I went to write on Tuesday and about 80 other writers were present so I figured it would be more on Wed. I'm now relieved from such anxious and stress moments. I had other things to do as well as continue living my happy life. Once it approaching April 15th, I'll be looking forward the news fron School of Nursing again. Thank you so much for your posts LC3. Best regards & sincere, H.

I've to ask that question because Tuesday is usually the day I collect donations from different areas and drive them to value village stores. Of course, I wouldn't want to look dirty nor messy. lc3, thank you so much for your quickly respond, you just made me happy again with at least 3 times helped me ease my feelings & excitements. Best regards & sincere, H. I'm just excited :monkeydance:

Univ of Wa School of Nursing - Fall 2007
Greetings again lc3 and Lisa, First, I'd like to greet Happy Holidays to you all. It had been once exceptional long week since I was invited. I'm tapping my fingers and screaming in my head that I'm going to write the proctored essay. One thing that bothers me is my hair & dressing, should I get a haircut prior to attending the session? I never had paid attention to my own look but I had prepared everything in my own abilities to become a nurse. I thought by getting proper suite & a haircut would show respect to staff & other applicants. May I just wear long shirt, khaki pants? I've no suite at home. Please give any suggestion that you have. Thanks so much & Happy Lunar New Year (which is similar to Thanksgivings). Best regards & sincere, H.

Univ of Wa School of Nursing - Fall 2007
dear lisa, i believe the admission committee have had a hard time to make the decision regards your application. you're thoughtful to have applied to other schools. i only applied to uw due to my own love for its medical centers (i been in er room couple times). so i put everything i had onto my application for uw of the upcoming autumn07 year. if i was you, i'd contact uwson's advisor directly and ask questions "how to make myself a stronger application for next year", "what did i miss or lack of", etc. i strongly believe the advisor will sit with you thoroughly on the application. that'd help on enhancing the application for other schools as well. i'm sorry i need to get back to work (my lunch is almost over). i wish you happy valentine day. best regards & sincere, h. **try again next year, i'd not hesitate to give it another try, especially talking with the advisor. it's important not to make assumptions though. bye.

Too poor to become a nurse?
:pumpiron: just another guy that would like to support you. I'm somewhat in similar situation, but I got supports from alot of people. File FAFSA as soon as possible. During filing FAFSA, you can choose options I'm interested in "Workstudy" or "Loans" or "Both". Even if you're not qualified for Pell Grants, other Grants are still available(such as Academic Competitiveness Grant, State Grants). Then Loans go after everything else. Talk with the Financial Office's administrators/advisors, they will help. Good lucks to you, dear. Best regards & sincere to you & your loved ones, H.

Thanks so much Julie, my intend was to find someone that will give feedback and proof reading my personal statement. i thought my personal statement was too passive and afraid the admission committee would not consider me as a candidate even though I had other qualities. Julie, please let me know promtly that you can help me. Thank you so much, have a nice day. hiep.

personal statement proof-read/re-edit request
Hi everyone, please pardon my little time spent in allnurses forums. But I have read lots of posts during my breaks and they're so thoughtful and enjoyable. I've finished a personal statement along with a resume for nursing application for Uni of WA Welcome to the UW SON My personal statement contains sensitive information that I don't want to disclose in public. Is there anyone willing to help me with this request? I understand that I had not contribute anything to allnurses yet but will try to help other fellows in future if time is affordable. Please post a reply that I could private message you and send my resume along with personal statement to you for help. Thank you so much, happy new year and holidays. Sincerely, hiep
