Hahaha! Those numbers are incorrect Marlene! I graduated in one of the BNF cohorts in March and maybe 25% of my cohort had a job immediately and still out of the 30 in my cohort we probably have 5-8 that still don't have positions. I am not sure about the other 2 cohorts that graduated in March but I am sure that it is a similar story!

I am looking for some recommendations from L&D or Post Partum nurses! I am looking for a new OB doc (preferrably that delivers at Scottsdale Shea) and I know that those of you who work with the docs know the best! Thanks in advance! :)

Amburgerz- I couldn't agree more! Part of me is extremely excited for Block 3 thinking that we will be getting a better education from experienced teachers and the other part of me is scared that we are going to get into Block 3 and not know a thing! Our class overall didn't do great on the HESI but didn't do bad either. It would be nice if they would offer a remidial class for us too. If I was paying for the tuition to EMCC and not Banner, I would want my money back! LOL! One of the teachers has already been let go but I feel like your class and mine took the fall for the school not hiring better teachers. It stinks that we are the guinea pigs. Honestly, if I had to do it over I would have defered placement to attend Mesa-Boswell or GCC. Anyway, enough ranting/whining from me! I am sure that the LPN bridge program will keep you ahead of the game! That is fantastic that you are able to do that this summer! Good luck! Let me know how the LPN bridge program goes and the remediation class! We start Block 3 in July so I will let you know if things are different! Have a great summer!

Amburgerz- It has been a while since I posted but I was curious how your class did in block in block 1 and 2? How did block 2 go for you? What did you think of the program as a whole? Are you excited to have the summer off to enjoy? Things are going well for us in block2, although I am excited to get new professors for block 3! About 4 weeks into the program I started to see the disorganization and newness of the program. Hope you have a fantastic summer!

Yes school has started! It is going well; very exciting but very overwhelming at first! :) It seems that the first cohort that started last year (Oct. 07') had to deal with a little bit of more disorganization and things like that. They seem to have everything ironed out and things are flowing fairly smoothly. Anyway, so for so good! Stacy

I applied to the Banner Nurse Fellows Program in May of 07 and was placed for Oct. of 07' even though I defered. I would def. recommend getting on with a hospital that has "staff" positions at a nursing school. I work for JCL and I heard their program is great, and I am currently in the Banner nurse fellows program and it seems to be going well so far! Just be proactive and start applying! :)

Hi there! I know that there are some students on here that are currently attending Estrella Mountain Community College Banner Program. I was accepted last year and had to defer placement for family reasons, but I was recently accepted for this October cohort. My questions for those of you already in the program is.... What is your schedule like with courses and clinicals? Any tips for things I should buy (pda, nclex study guide, etc.)? Where are most of your clinicals at? Anything that I should know before I start that you wish you knew going into block 1? Thanks so much for your time! Stacy B.

I just got my letter tonight that I was accepted into the October cohort at Estrella Mtn. CC! I can't wait to start! Anyone else at the EMCC cohort in Oct?

Hi All! I know that most of you that are following this thread have already had your interviews for the October 07' cohort so I am hoping that a few of you may have helpful advice for me! I actually just got a call for my interview for the Oct. cohort. I think it may have taken so long becuase they had called me 2 weeks ago to request to breakdown of my NET test (I only had included my overall score). So I am VERY excited because I had given up hope of getting an interview!:monkeydance: Anyway, I was hoping someone could give me some examples of the questions they ask during interviews? Thanks so much for you help and congrats to those that have gotten in!:balloons:

The community surrounding the hospital is less than desirable. Lots of people on the street and such. In regards to the hosptial I feel very safe there. The sercurity is awsome and are always willing to walk you to your car and such! Hope that this clarifys! Stacy

I work for JCL NM and I love it. I am not currently an RN but waiting to get into nursing school and working out on the floor. You must remember the area that JCL NM is in not the nicest and that most of the patients come from the immediate area. But I LOVE all of the training and support that they have to offer and great benefits! Good luck!
