thanks for the update. do they have a good orientation period? are you an RN or LPN?What shift do you work? and are they 12 hour shifts or 8 hours? let me know how it goes because I am currently in Long term care and would like to change over to correctional nursing.

I have been in LTC for many years the last few have been at the management level. I am getting bored with pencil pushing and would like to transition back to patient care and have the opportunity to work for the correctional system. does anyone have any pointers or thoughts? Do correctional facilities generally give good orientations, training, etc...I have my BSN. Thanks for any input.
