Does anyone know what is the base pay for a new RN in St.Mary's Hospital ( Hoboken University Medical Center ) in Hoboken , NJ ? Any info good /bad on it ? thanks a lot:roll

thanks guys so much, At this point I really like the Hospital that offered me a per Diem position ,I got other offers too but I did not feel good about it ... night shifts in creepy places.... I really hope to get a full or part time position at the Hospital but at this point I do not have kids yet so I am available to work per Diem ...I just hope that they will call me at least two times a week so I do not have to feel like a second hand choice waiting to replace a "real Nurse " if nothing works out for me per Diem I am going to keep looking for something better .

thanks a lot to everyone , per Diem Nurses, how often they get called to work ? Is it like a seasonal job ? Would any of you accept position like that ? thanks

Thank you so much to all:Starbin , Linda-AntlantaRN and Nurseangel47, I am so happy to hear from all of you ,but I wish if I did ask before I went on actual interviews so maybe now I would have a job alrady !? , I guess you get that kind of experience with time !? ( to Linda ) I am not so big on FAKING but I guess I have to learn it if that is what it takes ..... Nurse Manager did not call me so I called her by myself yesterday ,she was kind of unhappy to talk to me and said that they will go ahead with recruiting for position they considered me for?! Than she mentioned to call her next week to see if she will have openings on the same floor just for different shift ( ? ) Any way I went as well for the Open House in another Hospital two weeks ago , had interviews with NR nad NM ... after both interviews i felt like I should said more ......or said things different ...now is too late already......they told me that they will call with-in two weeks ..yesterday was the day and I called them by myself I could not wait any longer ! ..... Secretary of the NR said that she is out on vacation that day and took my info as well as phone number and promise that she will check and get back to me "can't promise the same day" so as for now I am still waitnig .... that is the place that I will love to work at .....but how long should I wait for a secretary response ? I think I will go ahead and go to some Hospitals and try to meet with NM and see if they have something to offer ...I fax and e-mailed my resume to those places a while ago so maybe I can checkwith them now ?

Hello to all, I had two interviews last week and no answer so far ?:uhoh21: I do not know what to think .... I called one Hospital and they said that they get back to me ...after 2 days no one called ....it means that they are not interested to hire me ....? And what is this all about shortage of Nurses in the Hospitals ? I do not understand where is shortage ? When I was talking to Nurse Manager she was concern about me having no experience ? How can I have experience if I just pass my Boards !!! I am so upset with all of this experience ! Any one here to tell me how it really works ?

O, thank God I saw your reply regarding will test ...thank God they let you retake it if you need to ...I tought that is another NCLEX ( you know 6-8 hours) NCLEX only took me 2 hours and I pass from the first time ....:rotfl: Thanks again and I saw some good reviews about Virtua so hopefuly I will like to work there as well

thanks again , the test will be at the time of the interview or some other day ? do you know ? please let me know I am alredy scared some other people said on this forum that test may take from 6-8 hours ? thanks again...:rotfl:

Good , I am considering a 12 hour shifts too ..... someone said in earlier discusions that is not easy ,can I do it if I never worked nights before but I don't mind to go to sleep at 2 am and I am working now 11 hours ?

Hi, If you can get Saunder's Questions Review and do a lots of questions everyday(if you can )especially before your NCLEX-RN , like 250 a day....I went to Kaplan review courses I did not enjoyed so much ...than as well I got Q-bank from them as a student you get like half a price discount ,but I it was not enough for me but than I got Saunder's ....I got it ..I pass from the first time ( I graduated form outside US school ) so you can do it even easier Good luck ....
