I am a graduate from grossmont college son june '03 They have an excellent core curriculum and has standed the test of time. Grossmont has a reputation of generating EXCELLENT ADN nurses with a strong emphasis on clinical skills. National Univ is a new program with an incredibly high tuition price. The y have practically no track record to speak of. If you want a quality education, with an emphasis on preparation fro the nclex, take my advice. Go to Grossmont!!! You won't regret it I promise! Hi, I read your comment about being an RN in California. I live in San Diego. Have worked for Kaiser San Diego in the OR for 10 years. I make 45.54 per hour and last year I made $92,000 last year with NO overtime. Now granted I've been with Kaiser for ten years, I also know the new grad nurses AT Kaiser start at about $29-$31/hour. That is NO lie. Nurses at LA Kaiser make even more but cost of living is higher of course. Don't be discouraged. YOU CAN MAKE IT! I KNOw! bEST OF LUCK TO YOU! rnfA2be

I took the NCLEX 6 months after i graduated from an adn program. I was thinking the longer I study, the better off I'll be. Well, that's true to a point. You know in your heart if you're ready. After all, you just spent two or more years of pure agony to simply graduate from nursing school. Take a prep class ie Kaplan or such. Learn HOW to answer nclex type questions and you're ready to go. Good luck The comp Will shut off at 75 questions and you can write RN after your name!
