Senario Help
Swatch007:angryfire :angryfire No actually this was not my nursing school homework-You jump to conclusions very quickly-I was asking for comments on the senario not a sermon-I guess you don't have the skills to give useful insight to my senario. How dare you say ""let use see-you speak only for yourself not other brighter nurse's on this site. :angryfire Very closed minded person. Nurse yeah right. Why did you bother to reply? I could have done without your comment. Hillbilly.

Should I do it?
I have a good chance of a new position in our regional hospital. Right now I worked in a the community (23 beds). I am the only nurse on duty-have a lot of freedom but there is no chance of promotion or post-graduate training-the pay is pretty poor compared to the hospital. This would be a chance to increase my experience. But I am scared of the move-that it will take sometime to settle in and that I might not be up to the same standard as hospital nurses. If I stay at the other place-things will remain the same. What should I do? Take the chance or stay with the familiar. :balloons:

A moan or two
I really hate my workplace. I love the patients. My don tries to tell me when to check someones blood pressure-the nursing manager points out "those tablets are for high blood pressure". As if I don't know that. I don't even get a friendly hello from these two people. Just recently I reported a fellow nurse to the manager and don. Nothing happened. I am so unhappy working there-It seems other nurses whom do a "crappy" job are valued. I work to very high standards-complete everything properly but that doesn't seem enough. :chair:

Did I do the right thing
Today I spoke with my don regarding concerns about a staff member. Last friday my shift ended as usual at 2300-The next shift leader, myself and a co-worker were seated at a table. A man fell out of his chair and onto the floor. The team leader said "Leave Him". I walked over to the man-checked him for injuries. The next day I saw the incident form. The team leader had logged the incident time wrongly. You could see clearly the true time had been covered over. Also the contents was untrue. Did I do the right thing. Patient safety was my concern and because the time she logged in indicates it happened on my shift. I am afraid she will retaliate physically. I thought during handover with this person that I would have a co-worker present. :balloons:
