hi rep! i respect your honest opinion, because i understand we come from different situations. but for me, its not taking advantage when ‘inactive’ nurses have options and not forced to by the hospital. as you’ve said, there are free volunteer trainings. for me, i see it as an ‘opportunity’, a second chance, of education and training. . and im truly grateful that there are reputable hospitals that offer continuing education and trainings to those who wish to come back and learn again. (i had 6wks-renal nursing also from nki years ago). im sure im not alone… secondly, trainings from hospitals are a lot different from volunteer trainings. sure you will also learn a lot from both, but i personally, would prefer the ‘structured program’ from these hospitals. trainees are properly endorsed and supervised by their clinical instructors. in a volunteer setting, i don’t think they will provide lecture and sit with you to dicuss and answer all your questions. yes they will ‘charge’ but i wouldn’t mind if in exchange of that, i will get all the needed training, re-education, competencies and eventually confidence in my knowledge and skills. in this time of ever increasing numbers of nursing graduates and competition, i think there is nothing wrong if you wish to catch up & learn a little bit more.…just my ‘humble opinion’. :wink2: thanks!

hello to 'all-nurses' out there! i would like to know if there are interested 'inactive' nurses for a re-entry program in phil.heart center (revisiting essential nursing competencies for patient care). 'a four month training program intended to prepare nurses who have been out of the areas for their come back to the nursing practice..' schedule will be on march 31-july 4. 3 weeks didactic phase (8-3pm) and 3 months practical phase (7-3pm). requirement is prc license,reg. fee, 7k. im interested since for past years i've worked is non-nursing field. i would love to learn and be trained again and i believe phil heart center would be perfect 'refresher' experience. i have inquired and registration is on-going, but according to them, if the 40 slots will not be met, they might cancel the scheduled training. anyone interested, you may inquire at phc 9252401 loc.3209/3210. thanks and hope to see you 'inactive' guys out there! mabuhay & god bless to all-nurses! :redbeathe thanks!

mabuhay to everyone! i would like to know if there is a college/university you can recommend that offers a refresher course for inactive nurses. i would like to practice nursing again after being inactive for more than five consecutive years. i have read in our pna that they require that refresher course for cases like mine. i would love to have that lesson and training again so that i can be competent and qualified in this very competetive world! thank you very much for all the information you can give! :loveya: good luck and god bless us all! mabuhay pinoy nurses!!:balloons:
