Thank you for the link Danish. I will check it out. Sabby NC, I think that that is the best way to go. I wish I had that opportunity. I live in a rural area and the nearest teaching hospital is about a 90 min drive. I am attending a small community college. I am also a mother of three. I am able to send my children to school and meet them at the end of our road when school is out. I live so far out in BFE that the bus does not even come to my house. I was a STNA at a nursing home for 2 yrs while waiting to get into program. I wanted to make sure that I really wanted to be a nurse. I think it was the best I could have done. I am interested in Hospice. I want to start out at a hospital to get experience first.

I have just completed my second quarter in the RN program. I love it:1luvu: . I am now on break and have boat load of chapters to read and two research summaries due when I return. I have been searching the web and cannot find any free research articles. I have found great abstracts, but everyone wants $50 to 70 dollars:banghead: . Does any one know of free sites? I am so excited about next quarter it's OB. I am also a bit nervous. I hope I get in on a C-section. Anyone have any advice or OB stories?

I work on a lock down unit at a nursing home. It was around 10 pm on 2nd Shift, myself and fellow aid had just got our patient in bed. I was turning on and checking all his alarms, the lights went out. I had shut the door after we entered. It was completely black. Now, I was about 2 foot from the only light switch in the room and the other aid was about 3 foot behind me. I had to flip light back on. When I turned the lights back on my partner was white as a ghost. In the same spot. I asked her anyway "Did you turn off the lights?", she said "No". She thought maybe I was playing a joke. We always have alarms going off when not in use, when turned off, and when people are sleeping "that have not moved a inch". That was the second time a light switch had turned off by itself when I was in a room right by it. I was just glad that this time someone was their to witness it with me. This is my first post. I just started RN program. It is great. I love it.
