To be honest, if access were restricted to nurses only, and "guests" were only allowed exposure to certain areas, I'd be outta here. The value to me of this board is the opportunity to get the full story of what nursing's like...both sides. I can get "happy talk" from newspapers, TV news stories, career books...the list goes on and on. But I can't get the real picture of what nursing's like anywhere else but here. Not mad, not even the tiniest bit annoyed here, and if you all say "go away" I'll do it. Melissa

I'm here... ...because I was considering nursing as a career, because my daughter is interested in becoming a nurse, and because I've noticed some threads discussing the image of the nursing profession, or what the general public thinks. Since I AM the general public (or at least a member of said group), it's something I feel qualified to have an opinion about. Not that I HAVE posted on any of those threads (this is my first and maybe my only) post, but I'd at least feel that I could. Oh, and I chatted here one night too. Met some nice people! Melissa
