  1. Hi- I have done a little research but still have not been able to find what I am looking for. What exactly is the difference between a CRNA and an AA? It seems like an AA goes to school for the same amount of time as a CRNA and they get paid the same amount. The only difference is an AA can go straight in from a 4 year school provided they took pre-med courses. Nurses need critical care experience. It also seems like it would be a lot easier for a nurse to go this route if they did not have the critical care experience. Can someone please explain?? Is there a major difference between the two and lastly why do they both exist? Thanks.
