Questions during grad school interview?
I am applying at multiple CRNA schools next year. I was curious about the questions they would be asking me during my interview. I would appreciate any replies of questions that you can remember from your interview. Thanks, RLL28

Curriculum of BSN?
When i make it through my ADN i plan on starting on my BSN. And i was wondering what I have to look forward to when i start. I have heard that going from ADN to BSN is mostly papers and not as many tests because most of the technical material is taught in your associates degree. Also which did you think was harder getting your ADN or BSN? Thanks to all who apply

All Np's who have knowledge of sleep apnea please help!
I am currently a nursing student and i'm about a 100% sure I have sleep apnea. I dont have any insurance or enough money to get a sleep study done or use CPAP machine. My grades have dropped lately and i am putting in the same study time. I can tell i am having a harder time concentrating on the material and having difficulty processing difficult test questions. My question is does anyone know if there is a proven direct correlation between sleep apnea and poor performance in school?

Anyone else discouraged?
Oh yes i feel your pain! had a 3.9 GPA before nursing and right now im looking at B's in my nursing classes. I really think you can study til you turn blue in the face and memorize all the notes you want but what it comes down to is knowing what the teacher wants and what kinds of answers she likes. Our teacher drives us nuts talking about Critical Thinking skills which im trying to grasp. people keep telling me to review your NCLEX books to get familiar with the types of questions they ask. And as far as that D is concerned dont worry about its behind you and cant focus on it. If you can find someone that has passed every nursing test there either lying or a good guesser. Everyone says you get used to taking these tests well me and you are both waiting impatiently!

Dumbfounded with Pharmacology
I have made an 88 on my first two pharm I tests. To be honest i think you need to figure out what your teacher wants out of your tests. Try to go talk to her and review your wrong answer. Im almost in the same boat you are trying to figure out what the hell nursing teachers want but i also try to learn all the material in the chapters and notes even though it not might be on the test. I figure the more i learn now the better off i am for later. Good Luck!

Why haven't I picked up on nursing tests yet!???!!!
Before going into nursing I graduated with a business degree. After a couple of years in the real world and not being able to find a job I decided to give nursing a try. I found out i loved nursing and I knew instantly this is what i wanted to do. With no knowledge of nursing, A&P or any dosage calculations I hit school full steam ahead breezing through A&P and Nursing Math with A's. Now in my first semester of fundamentals of nursing and Pharm I i have hit a brick wall. My study habits and discipline are still intact and im making B's and C's. I feel like im under a microscope because I did so well in A&P and all my other classes my fellow students thought i was genius (I know thats not the case ). Now everytime after a test I get bombarded by people asking me what i made on the test and everytime sure enough im so pissed off because I do worse than the people that made F's in A&P. How can i get a grip on these nursing tests! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Can an average nursing student make it in Grad School?
After graduating with a business degree and having to face the real world with no professional skill I found out pretty quick that there are not many opportunities out there right now for an average individual. So i decided to go back to school to become a nurse and after my first year i found myself making straight A's in A&P and Dosage Calculation. But in my nursing fundamentals i am struggling because of my lack of experience, critical thinking, and test taking skills. I have consistently stayed in the B and C range but feel like im behind the rest of the class. Even though it is early in my nursing school career I want to become a Nurse Practitioner and have the ambition and drive to do so. So I have a few questions for all the nurse practitioners out there. First of all do you think an average student can make it in grad school? Secondly, do you have any advice for an individual with a dream of becoming a Nurse Practitioner?

Critical Thinking Skills as a nurse?
Hey everyone who reads! I am a first year nursing student from VA and wondering if anyone knows any good books, websites, or any advice about critical thinking skills as a nurse. Our nursing teachers stress critical thinking skills and they base all of our tests on this. My problem is i have the discipline, motivation, and the ability to succeed in nursing but lack the test taking and critical thinking skills to become an A student. Anyone has any ideas hit me back Thanks! rll28
