  1. we are in the process of increasing our NICU to an 80 pt bed unit and moving to a new building. Currently a nurse with a light assignment attends all the high risk ( code deliveries). However we are getting busier and we are changing that role. We are lookinging into just keeping a nurse for all deliveries with no assignment. But when not on deliveries we need other duties for that role. aside from being a float nurse and helping others with busy assingments, I was wondering if anyone else works with this type of role. What type of other responsiblilites do they have? Pls respond
  2. we are in the process of changing the way we give report in our unit, I would like some input and see how other units do report. thanks. We currently have the charge nurse come in and give assignments to rn's by name. but it could get lengthy when we have 30 or so on. We are going to expand our unit and we want to see how we could shorten it .
