  1. Hi everyone. I need to ask this question to see if anyone has an answer. This des not have to do with me directly but me and a friend were accepted into a nursing program for Fall 2009 . I am asking this because this friend of mine recently confesed that he has 2 recent DUI's on his record! I was very upset becasue after countless hours of studying with him through micro, now he tells me he might not be able to continue with nursing RN program. I honestly do not have any real idea on what the California BRN is going to decide on his case once he sits for the NCLEX, but my guess is that he should stop now and not contunue to waste my time (by stydying with him) and anymore of his money by going through an expensive ELM program. Does anyone have any experience with DUI's on their record while they were going through nursing school? How hard is it to get licensed? I wish him the best of luck but really I am upset because I feel like Ive been wasting my time with someone that made some seriously wrong decisions (2xs). Any input on this will be greatly appreciated.....
  2. Ok so after all of this do you still want to move here to CA? If I were you I would try moving to a different part of CA and not Orange county! The rents will take up at least 1/3 of your pay check. Is that worth it, NO! I was born and raised here all my life, have a college degree (UCSD), and am getting now another in nursing and still making ends meet now with school loand and this rent is really hard. If you do not mind sharing an apartment or renting a room in a strangers house then come on down. If not look into Bakersfield, El centro (there is not much there but its still CA), Visalia (new homes for under 350,000, everywhere else 450,000 + ). Im just ttrying to help here but Im getting ready to leave to a different area. I live in San Diego (close to the same as San Francisco in rent) and I am not happy. So its your choice. And yes it is congrested so move abt 5 miles from work if not plan on driving or not really driving but sitting in traffic 1 hr each way even if you live 15 miles from owrk. Good Luck.
