  1. I have been "studying" for my adult CCRN for over 2 years now. I just can't seem to get the nerve to take the test. Any advice? I've never failed anything in my life, but I'm afraid this would be it.
  2. I worked full time at Banner Desert and did registry at St. Joe's. I can answer this question easily if you are interested in ICU or ER only. The ER at Joe's is awesome, I did not like Desert. I did not like the "flow" of pts through Desert (and I was on both sides of the curtain!) Joe's seemed more organized and got less "BS" pts than Desert. The ICU at Desert is GREAT, Joe's...not so much. I found more "attitude" and "clicks" at Joe's (I had a friend quit because of that). Another thing to think about...Banner has alot of facilities. If you get bored or decide to move, you can always transfer. They have their own travel division too. Joe's does not. Banner just gives you more options than Joe's. Banner also has the eICU (which I worked). This is another helping hand to the floor nurses and a waaay easier way to get a doc on the phone in an emergency...just hit the button! Hope this helps. The pay and benefits are about equal. Not sure about the new grad pay...I think it's around $25
  3. BE CAREFULL!!! I learned the hard way that there is a reason they offer high sign on bonuses!! I was stuck in H--- for 13 weeks and could not get out of a travel assignment, an assignment I took only for a $20,000 bonus that I never got. Read the fine print they can discontinue bonuses at any time!
