Thank you all for your helpful advice. I hadnt thought of the most obvious--stop nose picking -LOL. I like t:chuckle he others and will pass them on to my friend. I worked in an acute care setting--where most of the nosebleeds were occuring to the chemo kids and we had to do gelfoam--sometimes I forget the more obvious.

Hi All, I am a pedi nurse, who is posting this rather simple question for a friend , who just took a job as a school nurse. She has spent some time subbing in another school system. She wants to know how you handle nosebleeds. The school nurse orienting her had the child blow her nose! We never did it this way. Thought I'd ask the group. Also, if a child with the nose bleed consistently comes to the school nurse, what other measures would you take? I know schools are drying and I guess you can't put an humidfier by the child. Thank you.:flowersfo
