  1. Hey! I am actually in the same boat as you and currently working on my resume. I did go to a workshop that covered new grad resumes though. They said to NOT include school clinical experiences, as that is something every new grad should have across the board and is just assumed. If you don't have work experience in a nursing related field, then they suggested to focus on education and your educational achievements. Below that you can list off work experience but try to tie it into nursing somehow ie customer service learned in retail is also a valuable skill to have as a nurse. Finally, they suggested going to the website of the place you are applying for and to look at their mission/vision statement. Take key works from that and place them strategically through your resume. Hope this helps, at least a little bit!
  2. My husband is looking to relocate and he is looking in CA. Don't know yet if it would be Northern or Southern (I know, not very specific!). I will graduate with my RN in May. We currently live in AZ and the job outlook is terrible for new grads, so I wondered how it was in CA? I've heard different things, so was just curious as to the real scoop! I also have a Bachelors in Health Information Management and of course will go back for my BSN, but I want a job first! Thanks! Maria
  3. I waited a year and a half, you just have to know you're going to be waiting and adjust your expectations! There are things you can do to help yourself later on...become a CNA, review medical terminology and anatomy so they stay fresh, volunteer in a hospital. It'll start before you know it!
  4. hey guys! So, I just have a quick question. I took A&P I about 3 years ago in college. Im back in school to get my nursing degree and am only required to take A&P II. However its been so long since I took A&P I Im wondering if I need to re-take it in order to do well in A&P II? I reeeeeally dont want to have to though! Any opinions would be appreciated!! Thanks, Maria

So, im wondering if I absolutely need to re-take A&P I in order to do well in A&P II? Any opinions would be helpful!!! Thanks, Maria
  6. hey all, I just graduated from ECU with a degree in Health Information Management and now I am interested in Carolinas accelerated BSN program and their 2 year program. You can only apply to one at a time though and Im wondering if I have what it takes to be accelted into the Accelerated program. I graduated ECU with a cum GPA of 3.37 with mostly B's in my science classes (a couple A's and one C as well). It says they also look at community service and I had some but I worked full time in college so I dont have a lot. Just wondering if anyone who has any experience with this program can tell me if I at least have a fighting change of getting in!! Thanks!!
