Where to take my core classes ?
I want to thank everyone for their help !! Its a great relief to be able to ask these questions and get some direction as to which way to go ..LOL. I did print out the info for Athens Tech/MCG & NGCSU so maybe an advisor may be able to help me make sure that I get into the right classes ? LISA- I see that your at North Georgia , are you taking it at Gainsville ? I am leaning towards that one or Athens Tech ... Good News !!!!! I got into Youth Apprehenticeship for the last part of my senior year, I get to do rounds through out the hospital for a few hours every day after school. I am so excited !!!

Where to take my core classes ?
As for GPC....they are turning into a 4 yr college, and might not take applications with a tech seal. Can't the core classes be taken at Gainsville College ? Can core 's be taken at Athens tech ? Thats my first hurdle to figure out.

Soon to be Senior in H.S-Confused where to begin on Nursing Schools...
I am 2 math classes short of having a " College " seal on my diploma, therefore I will have a tech seal...which means I would have to go to a tech/ community college first . I know its all crazy....Im now just trying to figure out where I can take my core classes, and have then transfer to a Nursing school.

Where to take my core classes ?
Yea... I know of the ones in Gwinnett...but traffic in the am can be a nightmare, especially for am classes. Since I live right outside Athens I figure it might be best to stay in this area for traffic reasons... So I would need to see if GPC ( lawrenceville campus ) will even be taking new freshmen for fall 2007 - which they dont know as of right now- I even called and spoke to someone in the Nursing dept and she said that she wasnt even sure if that program was going to be staying there on that campus. Thats why I need a few schools as back up that are in north Ga So...if GPC ( lets just say just in case ) no longer carries nursing at the Lawrenceville campus for next yr, what other options do I have for core classes in NE GA ?

Soon to be Senior in H.S-Confused where to begin on Nursing Schools...
The whole "seal " thing on the diploma is this.....if you take all required courses then you can move on to a 4 yr college, if you are short a math/science /english whatever then you will have to go to a tech/ community college. There are some kids who dont want to go onto a 4 yr college or want a career that will require a tech school..either way Im screwed on that one and Im to blame as well for not following it as closely as I should have. I will have to do a community college for prep courses and then transfer ...it will be ok

Soon to be Senior in H.S-Confused where to begin on Nursing Schools...
First let me start off by saying thank you for taking the time to heed some advice !!! The reason why I turned to this board is because I can not count on my school counsler..I dont mean any offense but somehow being in the country produces people who are very uneducated and can not answer the most of simple questions.I know that it might be best for me to start with an Associates in the beginning and continue further education from there, just picking the correct schools is the challenge !!

Unfortunatly my daughter got a bit screwed on this one, they graduate with a seal on their diploma of either "college or Tech " seal, her counsler put her on the track of tech seal thinking thats the route she would need for nursing. UGH- anyways that means that she has to go to a Community/Tech school for her core classes. That limits her a bit.

Hey there everyone I have always wanted to be a nurse since I was little, and now I will be in my last year of H.S. I have taken all of the Health Occ classes and soon to take Anatomy my senior year, now I need the help from people on this board. Unfortunatly I will have a "tech " seal on my diploma so I will have to take my core classes at a tech school before I can transfer to a Nursing school/4 yr college.Thats where I need the help- I am so confused as to where to go. I live in NE Ga so my options are limited ,but I am SO open to any and all suggestions that you might have. Also..ok..so lets see if I have this right ? I will need two yrs of core classes and then 2 yrs of Nursing school for RN ? Is it best to go straight for a Bachelors degree then an Associates ? I have been on the net for hours researching this, but Im sure you guys can answer these questions so much faster..LOL Any and all help would be much appreciated !!! Jessica
