I am a LPN that just graduated with my RN last August. It has taken me until now to just get my foot in the door for a hospital, and as an LPN I'm not from Ohio and had travel and hospital experience. I also worked for a subacute/high acquity LTAC. Right now there are tons of jobs at OSU, someone told me that when you do the online application click that you at least have 1yr exp or it kicks the application out. Also check out Regency Hospital or Select Speciality Hospital. They will help you get your yr exp and get a foot in the door and offer good training even up to learning how to put in PICC lines. It does help to know someone, but just keep trying. Another idea is possibly trying Adena Hosp in Chillocothe I did my clinical there it's a 30 minute drive but it's a really nice hospital now as big as the Columbus ones but again exp it what you need, and year should do it. thank you, thank you, thank you for the support and encouragement. i think i got too ambition and relied more on notes i'd bought, then reading more thru the text books. i've now bought older editions of the books off amazon.com and realized that i'm gonna have to dig deeper, and make sure i really know my stuff. i'm gonna try the practice exams. also guerda math wasnt the worst, it was only coulple IV conversions, it was knowing the nursing process well, that got me, i kept thinking hey i'm a nurse i know this stuff how hard can it be. also guerda if u need a buddy to go thru this with u i'd be happy too, i could use some more good friends. ty again eric and antinurse.

HI all, new to the site. I just took my nc 1 exam and I failed it, made D. And the truth is I'm a really good student. Although I did try to go thru it probably too quickly, any advice, maybe EC is not for me, do I need typical university, or should I just suck it up and try agai? maybe try and study for NC 2? Anyone start off kinda rough and eventually get into gear on the 2nd try? Thanks!
