  1. There are 2yr and 4 yr nursing programs, I completed the 2 yr program but it took me 3 years. You have some gen ed requirements to fulfill before being accepted into a nursing program. once in the program it take 2 or 4 years to complete. Nursing is a hard program but it is rewarding. I finished my degree at age 30 so you can surely do it! Starting pay differs from region to region in Ky it is $17-18 /hr. ___GOOD LUCk!!:studyowl:
  2. :deadhorse Just wandering what the nurse to patient ratio is for other hospital's ob departments, we are currently having some trouble keeping our ob department staffed properly and are being told stuff about keeping with the budget. It is kinda scary that we are risking our jobs and all the education we have received to "keep with budget". They also always pull out the AWHON guidlines and it looks good on paper but does not always cover what is actually on the floor. How is this handled in other hospitals?
  3. I work for CHI in Kentucky and we use pbds for new hire and have just started in in our OB department, Not sure what the purpose of it is but we use it and have to follow up if we don't score high enough.
