Hi: Initially, organizations recognize NP's potentially generate significant amounts of revenue, and definitely are cost effective care providers. I am also a new NP interviewing and received job offers, but overall feel this is a fascinating process ranging from informal team interviews, to more standard presentations. Information is power, and individuals with information are able to review issues and influence decisions. Consider finding out before hand if possible, information such as call hours, collaborative practice arrangements, liability insurance, and potential practice restriction covenants if you choose to leave the organization. Also potentially you may wish to have information on duties of physicians in your specialty, and comparatively how much you will be billed to help determine if compensation is equitable. For me the process has been a wonderful learning experience. Also, I've been made aware of some potential inequties in the healthcare culture and feel as NP's we need definitely need to be assertive. Good luck in your search!
