Myn in OB
Actually suzanne4, you are mistaken. ALL CRNAS in any state can place epidurals! But yes, local hospital policy may restrict crnas from placing epidurals. And the reason being is politics, and nothing to do with patient saftey. Its all about the money and MDAs being able to bill for the epidural. Friendly advice.... next time, know your facts before you spout things off about subject matter that your not familar with

Welp got the final word from school...
Congradulations!! WELCOME TO HELL!! I just finished my first year of anesthesia school.... 1.5 years of hell to go. Dont get me wrong, I LOVE ANESTHESIA and learning about it, I have great grades, just very humbling, and intense, very stressful to learn such large amounts of info in only 2.5 years. Also can be very stressfull in the OR working on cases with a CRNA you just met that morning for the first time, EVERYONE does things "a little different" and they like to tell you your way is wrong, and then the next day in the OR comes and it starts allllllllll ovvvver. Anyway, hope everything goes well.

CRNAs in Austin Texas
I was interested in finding out more information on the practice setting of CRNAs in in the Austin area. It seems very MDA heavy. Im graduating soon and would love to live in Austin but im hesitant because of what i dont know about the anesthesia community. Ive been in contact with Capitol Anesthesiology but have never talked to a CRNA employed by the group. Anyone have any insight for me??????
