It starts next summer. So I'm just doing two prereqs I didn't have. I'm good with the math classes thank goodness. You're getting your masters in nursing/CRNA correct? 54 days? If so, did you work during the program? Whats the toughest part? I'm worried about tubing someone. I just dont know how you cant make a mistake doing something so delicate, especially with peds

Yeah its located in Philly. If you hold a degree in anything else but nursing you're eligible. What's great is its one calendar year to a BSN. Also if you have higher than a 3.1 gpa undergrad then you're exempt from those wicked GMAT, GRE requirements. Thank Goodness, I took college seriously so I'm good with that. I hear Jefferson's CRNA program is going to be great with good job placment and tuition rembursement if you work at Jeff. I have a "hook up" in the ICU. I'm a baseball die hard. No hockey, just what I hear on talk radio. Oh and I HATE the NBA..those guys are way overpaid LOL!

Now Mike, you know I cant let that angry diatribe you just spewed slide. I'm 34 not 54. Because I'm using a proxy I couldnt edit the post so I left it. I didnt plan on posting anymore until our paths extemporaneous crossed. I apologize and you're right in health care not only will I be outnumbered racially, I'll also have to adjust to being told what to do by people a decade younger than I. So an attitude adjustment is in order. Working on it.

I'm on here because I've been accepted to Jefferson's Fact Program for Nursing. I'm not a racist or pulling the race card (for what?) However you make some good points. I dont know Mike well enough to insinuate that he was intentionally slighting our culture. Thats an excellent point. Its true that I may have taken what he said out of context.Heres why: I listen to a lot of talk radio in NY. It seems that middle class America is blaming the NBA and the NFL for their financially woes. These sports just happened to be dominated by minorites. Obviously one has nothing to do with the other, but it dosent stop comments like "those people" and "they're nothing but thugs" or "they get away with murder." When they say "they" I know what THEY mean. I did overreact. However, I wasnt rude, and I felt I stated my opinion in a civil manner. The bottom line is I see humanity first and as a minority I'm well aware of the social strife that still exist in today's society. I apologize for acting in such an accusatory manner. I did enjoy the debate about hockey and its decreasing popularity though. LOL

Has anyone done only 1 year of critical care out of school then CRNA School?
I love the prospect of being a nurse. I love bedside care. Patients really make me thankful for my health and family. I am older (54) and I want to become a CRNA after my year of critical care so I can help my patients on a higher level. I already have my BSN and most prereqs. What's the shortest time you've heard being a critical care nurse, then going into CRNA school? Can you really be in CRNA school after just one year of critical nursing? I dont know, I might miss bedside too much. Thats really a short time. thanks! luv this site
