  1. hi leis23, God willing by January, I might be leaving for the US with my family.hw about you? when do you plan to leave?
  2. hi Heinrick.yeah! everything really went fast for me and my family. Praise God! I believe prayers have its own magic. I'm a Roman catholic by faith and a devotee of St. Therese of the Child Jesus and Nuestra Senora De Regla of Cebu, If you have the same religion as mine, try to ask for their intercession. It works for me. Just keep believing and in God's chosen time, you'll get your visa soon. God bless!
  3. got our visas today guys. Praise God for His goodness! He knows when is the right time.
  4. congrats leis23! hope i'll receive mine very soon. To God be the glory indeed!
  5. hi everyone and hi heinrick! my nov 14th interview went well. I had similar processes with leis23.after submitting my form in window 39, my family and I waited for a couple of minutes to be called. The q-matic board gave our cue at window 42. A pinay went on with our papers. She was pleasant though and ask questions kindly. The questions were; what is master of arts in nursing? (it was indicated in my ds230 that I took masters degree), how did I come to know about my employer?, what is the work of my husband?, where am I currently working and for how long?,do I have the money to pay for my family's visa?....when I said yes, she then gave me a small yellow paper and instructed us to pay at the second floor. after doing so,we went back to her to give her the receipt. we then sat and waited to be cued. the next cue was for finger printing. forgot the window for that, because it was my husband who is paying close attention on the q-matic board as I attend to my 8 month old baby.after the finger printing, the next cue was the consular interview.the questions were: what do I know about m employer? how much is my salary? am I guaranteed 40hrs of work per week? how was I interviewed? is it via phone, personally or thru the agency? And after he (the consul) went on with my papers, he then said, "everything seems to be fine with me.you may now take your seat and wait to be called for further instructions regarding your visa delivery." So the next cue was about giving the form already filled up with my personal details for delivery. Well that's it guys. I hope this information could be of help.:);)

  7. WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. healthcare system is pinched by a persistent nursing shortage that threatens the quality of patient care even as tens of thousands of people are turned away from nursing schools, according to experts. The shortage has drawn the attention of President Barack Obama. During a White House meeting on Thursday to promote his promised healthcare system overhaul, Obama expressed alarm over the notion that the United States might have to import trained foreign nurses because so many U.S. nursing jobs are unfilled. Democratic U.S. Representative Lois Capps, a former school nurse, said meaningful healthcare overhaul cannot occur without fixing the nursing shortage. "Nurses deliver healthcare," Capps said in a telephone interview. An estimated 116,000 registered nurse positions are unfilled at U.S. hospitals and nearly 100,000 jobs go vacant in nursing homes, experts said. http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/us_usa_nurses
  8. just sharing the news suzanne just to lift the spirits of some of us still waiting. atleast we have hope. even as what you say slim to numb. Don't be pesimist just be optimistic that some how something will happen.

  10. HR 5924 was reported favorably out of the Immigration Subcommittee. The vote was 7-2. This is a welcome development and keeps a candle of hope that HR 5924 can still be passed this year. The full Judiciary Subcommittee must now mark up the bill. The earliest that this can happen is after the August recess. http://hammondlawgroup.blogspot.com/2008/08/out-of-subcommittee.html
  11. hi everyone! just want to share this sad email i got from nvc. Your inquiry has been received at the National Visa Center (NVC). Unfortunately, this case no longer has a visa number available. This is because the applicant' visa category is oversubscribed, meaning that the available numerical limit of visas able to be issued was reached. Upon reaching the numerical limit of visas able to be issued, only beneficiaries who have a priority date earlier than listed in the current Visa Bulletin may be allotted a visa number in this visa category. The priority date is the date when the petition was filed at a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) office or submitted to an Embassy or Consulate abroad. In employment immigration the priority date may be the date the labor certification application was received by the Department of Labor (DOL). You may call (202) 663-1541 or visit our website at http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi_bulletin.html for priority dates currently being processed. The beneficiary should NOT make any travel arrangements, sell property, or give up his/her employment until he/she has actually received a visa from the US Embassy or Consulate General. When this case becomes eligible to begin processing again, any unexpired fees previously submitted to the National Visa Center will be applied to the case. The National Visa Center will notify you when further action is required. Regards, National Visa Center TAD i guess lets wait and see what happens this oct when the new VB comes out!
  12. by the way ms. suzzane what are the states that require cgfns?
  13. thanks ms. suzanne. im done with ielts and cgfns 2years ago and now i want to take nclex before i'll get my feet to US but my agency is holding me back from taking it because according to them my salary is waived, meaning that i will be receiving a starting salary that of a rn because since i havent taken nclex yet.but if ill take nclex before i arrive US and i fail it my salary upon arrival to US will be way too low and will only increase upon passing the nclex. i dont even know when i should start reviewing because i started openning my notes a year ago but got down-hearted with this unending retrogression issue.we'll thats my story and this is the reason behind my confussion.
  14. hi fruity.thanks for sharing your experience with me.it helped a lot!
  15. thanks rosesun.im just a little bit confuse right now if i should take the nclex before leaving for US or not.
  16. hi fruity, i just want to ask if you took cgfns first before nclex? there's a lot of nurses right now who take nclex right away.does this have any difference in getting a green card; taking nclex right away than having the cgfns first?
  17. mariel, fruity, leis and to everyone thanks for the comfort.just cant help but let a tear fall from my eyes while reading your msgs for me. its really hard to fathom why this has to happen but i guess being hit by retrogression has served its purpose for me....i'm still here in the phil when this lowest ebb has to happen. from the bottom of my heart thanks guys for the prayers i truely need it for my mom and may God shower you with blessings in return.i hope we could all get to see each other in the future.
  18. hi mariel7, ive been reading your posts and i guess the only thing that i could tell you at this moment is that nothing could be much heart-breaking than hearing a news that a family member is sick....and yes my mom is sick of cancer. i still dont know what stage but all i know it's a much devastating news than anything else.pls include my mom in your prayer i will really appreciate it. thanks a lot mariel and hope things will be ok for you soon.
  19. hi bettyboop do you already have an interview date?
  20. hi everyone! i guess as long as our papers are still being processed at NVC we still all have a glimpse of hope.
  21. thanks mariel! best of luck for all of us. let's continue to pray and hope for miracle.Gos is good. I guess in His own chosen time we'll get to US soon.
  22. I just want to share what I got from a good website of immigration lawyers..... The U.S. Department of State (DOS) issued the August 2007 Visa Bulletin late this afternoon (July 17, 2007), showing "unavailability" in all the employment-based (EB) categories. The DOS also confirmed that it is withdrawing the July 2, 2007 revised Visa Bulletin, so that the original July 2007 Visa Bulletin remains in effect, showing availability for all EB applicants to file the I-485s in July, except for the narrow category of "other workers." The original July Visa Bulletin of June 12, 2007, however, would have given only until July 31, 2007 to file I-485 cases with the USCIS. we still have the chance to get a visa.
  23. hello everyone! I rang nvc yesterday and today and the automated response said that they are waiting for the return of my biographic data and once received I will be notified with the outcome of the review. Does this mean a good news for me? pd dec 2005
  24. good luck ilona13, you made it! keep us updated. hope that the rest of us will soon get the same good news!
  25. hi mariel7, what a sigh! thanks for your info...you gave us a grip of hope amidst the roller coaster ride of getting a visa to US.I just continue to hope that things will be better on the coming days.hope we all get to US very very very soon.i'll keep you all updated with my papers too. Good luck to all of us! as St. Therese of the child Jesus would say "everything is a grace." maybe this long wait is a grace after all.
