  1. That's the thing...i've only been there for 2 months... "nobody does their job" ...pharmacy never puts in all the orders, i have to call them all day every day...the nurses don't do all the Dr's orders so we have to go through the charts days back just to make sure everything's correct...and done...we only have like 1-2 nursing assistants Ever! so it's like total patient care for all 6 patients...it's crazy.
  2. Ok so i finally graduate and become a Registered Nurse....well i got a job close to home b/c i felt that would benefit me...i was wrong... the unit i work at is something else, nobody seems to do their job...it sucks...i know nursing isn't suppose to be like this...i should love coming to my job! what do i do...should i just stay for 6 mos or a year or what to find a new job....its horrible... any advice would help! thanks!!!
  3. I took the hurst review...but i actually did almost everything i could to study for NCLEX... like Kaplan, Saunders, Mosby, and etc...i think i was just stressing :) ....but what i liked about the hurst review was...that there was an actually person reviewing all kinds of material versus just reading something. Also, you have notes that you fill-in as you listen to the videos which i liked.... Good Luck to ya!!!
  4. Ok so i graduated in august and then with the whole hurricane stuff i didn't end up taking my test until last week....i found out i passed! :nuke: and now i'm wondering if i can go ahead and get a job and just do an orientation??? or should i wait until Jan. and do an internship program.....what to do???? i know a lot of hospitals want at least a year exp. ...i want to work in Houston, Texas...... any info. would be greatly appreciated....Thanks!!!
  5. ok....so i took the nclex on thurs. and i just got on the computer to get my quick results from pearson website....and under status it says pass....so i'm thinking ....i passed!!! ....wow! i'm still in a state of shock!!! ....glad i can put my notes/books/flashcards/cds/etc. away!!! good luck to everyone!!!
  6. only a few more days everyone!!! we can do this!!! good luck everyone and stay calm, cool, and collective ...can't wait to be a registered nurse!!!
  7. Congrats...and Good Luck to all October Test Takers!!! I scheduled mine for Oct. 30th and i think i'm starting to freak a lil bit....

  11. ok...so i'm graduating in august and i have only 3 more classes of pre-regs before i can do my bsn online, but reg. for school is today (for the fall) and i need advice from the nurses that do this or have done this...how do the schedules usually work like 3 days in a row (all 12s) ??? or can it vary? i also heard something about just working the weekends and going to school during the week? i have no clue what to do...maybe i should just wait???
  12. ok so i don't know if it's just my school or what but our management class is pretty hard! i was wondering if anyone had any tips or suggestions on how to study...thanks!!!
  13. does anyone happen to know where in the texas nurse practice act or the BON states that lvn's are not allowed to give blood???? thanks! :nuke:
  14. okay...so i am going to graduate with my associates in nursing this august and i really want to work in the er it just seems like my niche...but i have felt discouraged by some things i've heard like it is better to work on a med/surg unit before working in the er...that some places will just break you down because you're a new nurse and you don't have any experience under your belt yet....so my question is should i just go for the er position or start out on a med./surg. unit to be safe??? thanks to you all!!!
  15. I was wondering what are some really good NCLEX study books that helped u??? to help me study before I take my exam??? Thanks a bunches!
