  1. Thank you for the reponses. You all have been very resourceful as usual. It's nice for a student to come and get good advice from great people.l I applaud you.
  2. Hello Guys! As Usual Its Nice To Post A Thread And Get Your Feedback. I Am In My Second Semester Of A&p And I Am Just Breezing Through. It Seems Like The Professors Aren't Challenging Enough. I Really Need To Know This Stuff. Should I Just Take Time And Study The Book Over And Over Myself? How Concerned Should I Be Considering That Clinicals Start In The Fall And Graduate School Is Part Of My Future? Thanks In Advance For You Input!
  3. Alright gals and guys, I am sure there are a few hundred posts on this subject already. I did not want to look for them, so I started my own thread. I am a junior level nuring student who starts clinicals in the fall. I worry about the stress level of being a nurse, particularly ICU. On a scale of 1-10, how would you rate the stress level of being an RN? How do you handle it all? I am capable of handling stressful situations, but is nursing 24/7 stress. Wow! Somebody help me:uhoh3: .
  4. HEY GUYS! I AM INTERESTED IN KNOWING HOW MUCH CADAVER EXPOSURE YOU HAVE WHILE ATTENDING CRNA SCHOOL. IS THERE A LOT OF CADAVER EXPOSURE WHILE LEARNING TYPES OF ANESTHESIA PROCEDURE? YIKES......
  5. I know that the ccrn is a certification (I guess). How do you obtain this? I haven't seen it at any of the colleges around my area. I am a BSN student now who is planning on going on to CRNA school. I have read that having the ccrn helps you on your anesthetist journey. Where do I start looking? I live in the STL, MO area. Thanks.......
  6. Man oh man, where are all my Missourians that are supposed to be here to represent? Nobody has been on this particular forum for quite a while, so I hop that someone answers. I currently am in my 2nd year and a half at UMSL's school of nursing. I was very optimistic at first, but now I am realizing that there is a lot of uncertainty about the program. Noone can tell you when your clinicals are actually starting. Even though you might be done with pre-reqs, others who have started the program at an earlier date take prescedence. Certain classes are not offered the way they should be. The admissions counselors at the college of nursing can't tell you much either. I'm like, why I am there? I am seriously thinking about transferring to the BJ college of nursing. I know that they are awesome, but it comes with a hefty pricetag. UMSL is so much cheaper, but can you put a pricetag on your education. Being a nurse is a serious deal, and the process and learning experieces should be as smooth ans stress free as possible. The classroom experiece and labs/clinicals should be intense. I like it that way. It prepares you for the field. It is all the b/s that I have to put up with outside the classroom within the school is what I can't stand. Does anyone else share my opinions about UMSL and their nursing program? I heard it used to be a lot better when it was affiliated with Barnes. That could explain a lot. It used to be Barnes College of nursing at UMSL, but they parted ways. Share your experiences with me about the school.
  7. hey guys! i hope that everyone is just super, and excelling in whatever nursing education or job you are pursuing at the moment. i wnated to know would anyone recommend not working and going to crna school at the same time. i mean, is this realistic? i have friends who attend bsn school with me and they can't manage to work doing that. i work f/t and manage, but i am worn out! the bills have to be paid though. being a crna is the ultimate goal that i have. attending the school is very important to me. other crna's have told me that is is like two years of medical school. who could possibly work while doing that? is there anyone who worked f/t while going to crna school, or plan to. i figure since that most have their bsn degree already, they have to be working. any crna students or crna's have any advice? help!!!!
