  1. Run run run as fast as you can to the nearest computer and update your resume. Don't let this experience ruin nursing for you. It is very possible to love what you do, but hate your job. I've been a nurse for almost 14 years and recently left a job because the new supervisor was straight from satan's loins. You don't have to work in that type of an environment. There are plenty of POSITIVE nursing experiences out there for you to find. Good Luck.
  2. I had this same experience in a small hospital. I reported exact happenings to my supervisor. I didn't provide things such as the fact the other nurse didn't do her fair share etc. so I didn't sound whiney. I only reported things that directly impacted patient care and safety. When the DON refused to do anything about the situation I found another job. Do you really want to work for someone who isn't interested about quality care to people? Be sure to have all your ducks in a row when speaking to your supervisor and have details. Don't say anything you cannot back up with facts.
