Thanks... I Am On The East Coast. University Of Penn. Health System... 12 Weeks... Now I Am To Go In Front Of My Nm On Tues. Because My Preceptor Doesn't Feel She Could "let Me Loose" Yet... I Am Overwhelmed.. 12 H Shifts Rotating.. And We Only Use 1 Nurse In The Or For Mom/baby. That Nurse Needs To Circulate, Take Care Of Mom, Stablize, Id Baby. Help Clean Up Mom Then Recover Her In Our Pacu, Call Report For Both And Then Transport Baby.... I Think I May Be Reaching Insanity.. And I Feel Like I Just Received A Big Fat F On A Final!!!

Hello Out There.. Could Someone Please Give Me Some Personal Advice/opinions On How Long They Think An Orientation Program Should Be For A High Risk 100+ Babies Per Week Teaching Hospital For A New Grad In Labor And Delivery...? Thank You For Your Help!!

drexel my dear.... please.... save yourself some heartache... coming from firsthand experience... and yes, pass rates are horrid!!! do yourself the favor and go for the accelerated.. some hospitals will pay off some of your loans... good luck!

i am an l/d nurse at pennsey... no BSN required... ask for christine swain, nurse recruiter, l. kinkler is nurse manager. be prepared for 100+births per week.. and a wild ride.. pay depends on what level you are, starting around 28./29 +shift. good luck, and trust your gut if you go for an interview...
