To minRN and Jackie There are some universities with specialization in Psychiatry leading to Advanced Practice in Psych Nursing Degree. Here in Maryland, USA,where I completed my MS in Psych, Adult Psych and Mental Health Nursing encompasses different areas of interest in Psych practice. Geriatric population is true to homecare because of Medicare. I can not imagine the exclusion of psych in the study of gerontology, and what I often encounter in my practice is more of neuropsychiatry in the geriatric population.
