Military wife/mom of 2 - nursing school and peds career really possible?
I too am a Army wife. Started nursing school when my husband deployed to Bosnia. We had 2 elementary/middle school children at the time. It wasn't easy and there is alot of sacrifice. So worth it in the end. I'm a pediatric nurse and love it. Just be willing to spend less time with your spouse, children, eat quick meals and feel frazzled. It can be done, but it also depends on how much your spouse helps. When my husband came home he was GREAT! Did everything he could to help. Good luck.

Military spouses in San Diego?
Isn't military life great? Hopefully you'll get to settle for a few months or a year after you get to California. At least you are in a good specialty for travel nursing. Hang in there. Military has its ups and downs and I can actually say that I have had more ups than downs in the 21+ years I've been married. Of those years I have been an Army Reserve wife, enlisted active duty wife and an officer's wife (all to the same soldier). Enjoy your time it goes fast.

Telemed Travel Company
I was having trouble with my travel company not being prompt in getting me an assignment. I called Ken Tracy at Talemed and he had an assignment for me in less than 2 days! Very nice.

The Best Place You've Been
Why didn't you like Palm Springs....I turned down an offer at JFK in Palm Springs today. Just curious as to why you didn't like it. I want to make sure I make a good decision in case that opportunity comes up again. I would have worked Pediatrics.

Military spouses in San Diego?
Did the first 6 months of nursing school while my husband was deployed to Bosnia. It isn't easy, but it can be done. Alot of take out food and studying at basketball games, football games and dance programs. Hang in there. My husband is gone again, Iraq, and both of my kids are in college. I am now an RN with 6 years of experience. I am getting ready to take a travel assignment in Phoenix. If you ever find yourself in a similar position, I really recommend travel nursing. Fun, lucrative and lots of experience to be gained!! Good luck!

Anyone heard of Aureus Medical group
Can't speak much about Aureus other than I have heard of them. However I work for a very small company, RTG Medical and couldn't be happier. I have worked 3 assignments for them and getting ready to work on my 4th. Not only do I have a great recruiter but if she is having trouble finding me a position where I want to go she involves all the other recruiters in the company until I am finally placed. I have nothing to say, but great things. Sometimes a smaller company gives you that personal attention that is often needed.
