  1. Thank you for this article it has been helpful in giving me some new ideas on how I plan to market my health education app in the near future. Any other types of advice you can give would be most useful.
  2. Old practice used to be to use O2 flow on skin to aide in drying site, with the theory to have oxygen act as a healing agent in terms of vasoconstriction. The problem with high level O2 (100%) is that it can potentially effect the eyes worsening or inducing retinopathy of prematurity. Oxygen is a great medication, but the more we learn about the effects we become more cautious on how liberal we are using it. I personally have found great luck in using prescribed ointment, however the key is to apply a layer of vaseline to the actual diaper so it is unable to wipe off all that precious ointment.
  3. Been a NICU nurse for 10 years and love it. Here I'm one of 4 and its no big deal. The last hospital I was at I was mostly the only one and LOVED it. The positive attention you get is great. Remember it usually takes one female and one male to make that baby. You can bridge that gap that brings a father into the mix. The pros are countless for male nurses in the nicu. Follow your gut.
