  1. Hi Motocycle mama, I think it does not make you a bad nurse or bad person or does not mean you don't care about patients. Everybody has their strength and weaknesses. If legal issues is what you like best than hands on nursing go for it. It is the collective action of all the different fields which make up the health care team and the world as a whole. On the other hand I think it is time nurses look at the reality of life. I think nurses were poorly paid for so long because we were made to believe that nursing is about caring for patients not money. so as a nurse do not argue about money. just be a nice calm caring person and the happiness of your patients equate to yours. that's true but we need our own share of the income we generate. MD's make a lot does that mean they don't care about patients?
  2. I think the answer to his question is simple. It depends on where you are working, your title, qualifications and obviously years of experience. an experienced nurse with an MSN/MBA who is the Director of nursing or vice president incharge of patient care services will make more then 200K. a good nurse researcher can gain more than 200K/yr from projects and a good nurse consultant too makes a lot.
