Has anyone seen Xigris effectively turn around a septic pt? We've used it on several pts at my facility, so far without success. In its literature it says it's only effective in approximately 1 out of 16 pts. I'm just curious if anyone has seen it...

In my unit cordarone is almost always the first choice. We do have one doc who still likes to try lidocaine. Allison:)

I work in ICU, so I always wear gloves. You never know what you might find when you walk into a pts. room. We also deal with MRSA, VRE, hepatitis, etc. You have to be careful and protect yourself and your patients. Allison P:)

fab4fan You're right I am extremely stressed out about this whole situation. I didn't fill the ABX script because I didn't feel that I needed it. I should have refused the injection, but at the time I was in so much pain I didn't feel like arguing...
