Hi all, I have been reading old posts for the last few days and have become addicted to this site. I am in an unusual predicament and would love some input. I have just finished my pre-nursing and have been accepted to an ADN program and a BSN program. Here is my problem, (don't get mad... I read an exhaustingly long debate in an earlier link) I don't know whether to do the 2 year degree and start work sooner or do the 3-4 year degree and get the BSN. Tuition is not a problem in either case. My problem is that I am not a youngster (38 years old) and I know I will want to go into management in the future and eventually become a Nursing teacher....This tells me to get the BSN right? However, my husband is fighting (and hopefully beating) stage 4 lymphoma and perhaps getting my degree faster and to work sooner might be benificial. So, I guess my question is what are the benifits of the BSN for the long term future as opposed to the benifits of working sooner, the short term future. Any input would be greatly appreciated.....I need to make my decision by May 1st!!!! Thank you
