  1. Hie, It will get better trust me. It takes so much time for staff in dialysis units to accept a new person I have been on my unit for 3 years and still i have problems but I just go do what i have to do and go home. I tell myself that i have not come here to make friends but work. Do what you can if you have problems call someone else not your perceptor because some people feel very important if their teach you that's what she is probably doing trying to put you down everyday. Don't quit your work because of someone live when you have got something under your belt. You are a threat that's why she is doing that to you. I can tell you we have the same type of people on my unit i know how you feeling but not to worry it will come to pass. Good luck
  2. The unit I work in we use 3 but UF only has it's complication so the other way we do it is reduce temp and sodium profiling. We only take off a litre an hour and to be honest it does work with the patients we have.
  3. You did nothing wrong the reason we put machines into test is for safety of patients. DON has got some issues.
  4. Find out if your patients are taking their BP tablets pre Hdx otherwise advise them not to take before there come for dialysis to reduce hypotention cause it will making it difficult for ultrafiltration to take place otherwise med need to be reviewed cause guidelines state that pre and post blood pressure should be less than 140/80mm Hg pre and 130/80 post Hdx. . Not sure if thats what you are asking. i understood the the led bit but that blood pressure is high and chances of cardiovascular problems are high. a
  5. I believe button hole needling is best especially for patients who self cannulate otherwise i have been told that the ladder one is the best thought I have just finished my renal course and my lecturer says button hole is the best. have a few articles about it will put it on line for you guys. take care have just joined the forum how is everyone.
  6. Hie Having in dialysis for sometime now. I qualifed and went straight to dialysis.Manager was reluctant to take me but need new blood. What you feeling is normal. I can manage 32 patients now with the help of co workers but the first days i would press a buttom and look around for someone and open my eys I have big eyes i did not realise butnow i know. you will be fine it takes time and you won't live trust me. a
