  1. I'm not a NP, however if you can find a 12 Lead EKG course called Multi-Lead Medics taught by Bob Page anywhere around you should take it. This class is the best 12 lead class I have ever taken hands down. Bob is a great instructor, who has taught all over the world. He has a text published and a DVD out. He does an 8 hour basic class and a 4 hour advanced 12 lead class. The class makes reading a 12 lead EKG a breeze. You will walk out of this class and never hesitate about a 12 lead again. Just my 2 cents from someone who does 12 lead EKG's daily...
  2. Thanks to both of you. I may try one or both of those ideas
  3. Ok I have a question. I am looking for scrubs. I would really like to find a pair of scrub pants that I can wear a belt with. Does anyone know any scrub pants with belt loops? I have a hard time keeping the drawstring types tight enough. They always seems to become loose while I'm working. I thought maybe a belt type pant would be better. I have seen the aviator scrubs but the facility I work for does not allow any emblems on the scrubs. From the looks of this brand, they all have the aviator logo on the chest of the scrub top. Can anyone confirm or tell me otherwise. Thanks for any help that you guys can give me.
  4. I have a question. I just sent my application with all my official sealed transcripts to Excelsior College yesterday for their official review. How long does this typically take and will they call or send me written correspondence to tell me what classes are required to complete my nursing degree? How long does this process typically take after they receive the information that I submitted to them? Can you tell I'm kind of getting excited about getting started? ha-ha Thanks for any information you can give me.
  5. Loreal99, I have a couple questions for you if you don't mind? Are you doing the distance program or the on campus program? Was there a long wait or a wait list to get accepted to the program? How long after applying did it take to find out you were accepted? My roomie is wanting to apply and I thought I'd ask someone who actually is accepted into the program. Thanks in advance!!
  6. I have a friend who wants to get his ASN degree. He would like to get into a program in the KC area. Does anyone know the expected wait time for most schools from the time you apply, until you can actually get started? He is trying to find a program that he could start relatively soon, versus having to wait 2 years or more. Any suggestions?? Thanks...
  7. Thats not too bad. About 6 months before you can apply to KS. I could swing that no problem. Thanks for the information though!
  8. thanks rn_wannabe2008. i really appreciate the information!!
  9. Disregard, I just found out the answer to my previous post question
  10. What is ISU? I'm not sure what you guys are talking about.
  11. Great! Let me know what you find out. I now have 3 people at my work who want to do the program
  12. I am looking at pursuing my nursing degree using the Excelsior program. I work full time as a paramedic and can't afford to take the time off to go to a traditional nursing program. I heard a rumor that MO was not going to accept RN's who obtained training through Excelsior. Has anyone else heard this, or is this just another rumor? Any comments will be helpful to me as I am trying to make a decision fairly quickly. Thanks...
  13. Ok I am a bit confused. Can I take CLEP tests for the classes such as the prerequisite courses for the Associate program without enrolling in Excelsior first? Is so, do I need to use the College Network, or IStudySmart or one of those organizations to do this? The more I read the more confused I get, haha. Thanks for any help you can give me. Brandon
  14. Thanks to everyone who has responded so far. I am very interested in starting this program soon and I am enjoying reading everyone's posts so far. Thanks for the information and I will keep in touch and hopefully be able to start soon. Brandon
  15. I am a paramedic with 15 plus years in EMS. I am interested in enrolling in the Excelsior program. Is anyone from Missouri that might have advice for me? Any problems with this program being recognized for licensure by the MO. State Board of Nursing? I am new to this forum and new to the website. Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!! Brandon
