  1. Just wondering, how long does it take to recieve "official" NCLEX results?
  2. Any Army Nurses out there stationed at FT Bliss? Or anybody been there recently? I am graduating nursing school in a few weeks and just found out that I will be going to Willaim Beaumont Army Medical Center at FT Bliss. Just wanted the scoop on the place. Thanks.
  3. Greeting to all. I am an active duty soldier currently attending nursing school through the AECP program. I will be graduating school in about a month and looking forward to getting back into the swing of "Army life." I was wondering if any one out there could offer some info or words of advice as to what I should expect during my first 3 - 6 months as an Army nurse. I'm not talking about OBC, I'm talking about when I get to my first assignment. Alot of my civilian friends already have jobs lined up and have an idea of what to expect as far as working conditions, length of preceptorship, etc.... But I really dont know what to expect from an Army hospital. Also, can anybody provide some insight as to good assignments/duty stations? I chose FT Carson, Ft. Campbell, and Alaska on my "dream sheet," but you know how reliable those are. Any recommendations on a good duty assignment or even a head's up on places not to go. Finally, if anybody else out there has recently gone through the AECP program, can you tell me at what point you found out what your duty assignment would be. I know that I wont get written orders till after the NCLEX, but we had been told that we would at least find out where we were going before we graduated. Three weeks out, and still no word, and of course the "higher ups" have no clue as to when. Any info, insight or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  4. Thanks for your help.
  5. Thanks for the input. Much appreciated.
  6. First of all, hello to everyone. I am hoping that some of you will share some of you vast experience with me. I need to come up with a few examples of the following, as applied within the actual context of patient care, not in theory. Decision making priority setting time management organization delegation critical thinking Can anyone think of any example of how you incorporate these, within the scope of your workday, either with a patient, in management, how you prepare for work etc.... I would appreciate any help and owe you BIG TIME!!!! Thanks.
