  1. Thank you Labs cabin. i dont intend to take the local boards here in the philippines. i was alittle bit skeptical because i have done a little bit research over the net and some of the web sites there said that a state license from the country of origin is needed. i am still here in the philippines and i am applying for the nclex and visa screen. i hope you cold recommend me to a good agency who can help me regarding my petition to the us. tnx
  2. thank you kathykaye. do you know someone who had been petitioned without taking the local board exam and and the agency that she used for her to be petitioned in the US? thank you again
  3. Greetings. I did not take the local board and the CGFNS here in the philippines but i am now applying for the NCLEX and visa screen to become an RN in the US. i dont have a US visa right now so i would be needing a hospital to sponsor me. I hope you could share your experience with your petition if you did the same thing what i did. I did not took the local boards because i am a second courser. would not taking the local boards cause me problems with my petition even if i did pass the nclex and visa screen? thank you
  4. Hi dep. Glendale adventist medical center is a big hospital and one of the best hospital here in CA. If you're here in LA i suggest that you check out the hospital. I met with their HR director and nurse manager and i was accepted. I just filled their on line application which you can find in their web site. They will call you once they received you're application. After that they will schedule you for an interview. Good luck
  5. I started looking in the internet after passing the nclex this may. just search for hospitals where you think can be accessible to you then get their contact number and call them and look for the nurse recruiter in the HR department. honestly you dont need a agency because there are a lot of hospitals who would sponsor foreign grads. just look for the nurse recruiter and if by chance shes not available (which often would be the case) becasuse their really busy, just leave your contact details. they usually return the call. Do you have your I 94 with you?
  6. yup i am. Both hospitals were good so its really up to me to balance the pros and cons of each hospital. Thanks for the reply
  7. Furofire i am considering working in the Med/Surg. department. I am choosing between glendale adventist medical and whittier hospital. hope you can share some of your experience and what department you worked in. thank you
  8. thank you ORSmurf for sharing your experience. aprreciate it!
  9. i hope someone can give me a feedback on Glendale Adventist Medical Center. Whats your work experience and how is the working condition. Thank you. by the way i am a new grad so right now i am considering this hospital.
  10. Are there any pinoys taking the NCLEX in the US using your tourist visas? did you had any problems with the department of homeland security upon entering the US?
  11. i need your help. i hope someone can shed light to these rumors here in manila. Rumors has it that there was a nurse who went to the states as tourist and upon interview with Department of Homeland Security he was asked what was his purpose on visiting the US. He then replied he was there to visit his relative and have some vacation. Right there the DHS said "No your going to tke the NCLEX exam". so there he was, no entry to the US and was airport to airport. I hope that was just a rumor.
  12. I received my ATT last March and ill be probably taking my NCLEX at Nevada this May. I am leaving for the US this 1st week of April. I hope somebody could share their experience especially recent Foreign Nurses who went to the US to take the Nclex by using their visa. There were rumors going around that some nurses who went to the US as tourist never made out of the LAX because the department of homeland security saw their records or something and identified them that they were going to take the NCLEX in the US. Speculation was that the DHS knew because of the finger print cards record that we submitted upon application of our ATT (probably reflected on their pc when they entered the tourist record at the DHS counter). I try not to think about it but i know some of you guys esp filipino nurses who just arrived in the states knew what is at stake if youve been denied entry. Thank you
