in response to what my first year has been like. i work on 1 of 2 of the busiest floors in the second busiest hospital in mississippi. although my floor is suppose to be primarily ortho, i will often instead get every other kind of patient. our floor is also the overflow floor for all the other areas of the hospital, so we get every type of patient there is. if you dont learn fast, work hard, and know what your doing; you dont make it there. i have spoken with several co-workers who were travel rn's for years, and they all say i am more then proficeint. the very first day of orientation i was told if you could make it through six months of the floor i was going to i could go anywhere. i feel confident that i can work most floors with little or no orientation.

I Am A Nurse Of Just Over One Year On A Med Surg/ Ortho/ Neuro/ Telemetry/ Overflow Floor. I Work With Wonderful People And Love My Job, But I Recently Decided To Go Into Travel Nursing. I Got Set Up With Bridge Staffing In Mobile Alabama, And Im Am Very Intrested On Any Input Anyone May Have About This Company. The Hospital They Are Trying To Set Me Up With Started Interviewing Last Thursday, And I Have Not Received A Phone Call. I Called My Recruiter Yesterday. He Said He Would Call His Director To Find Out What Was Going On, And Give Me A Call Back. I Have Not Heard Back From Him Yet, But I Kinda Feel Like I Am Getting The Run Around. Am I Being Inpatient? Any Input Would Be Greatly Appreciated. Any Advice About Travel Nursing Or Any Good Companies Would Also Be Appreciated.
