New York State NP or APRN? confused regarding titles
Hi everyone, This may seem like a silly question because I'm already enrolled in a Master's Program in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing but here goes: Upon graduation (hopefully) from an accredited academic program, I'll be getting an MS (not an MSN). I understand I need to pass the NP exam to be designated as such. What about the APRN designation? I've been clicking around online and getting confusing information. Is APRN a NYS title...would I be an APRN, NP....does passing the NP test give you both credentials? Thanks - Mike

New York to Florida Licensure Information
Hi all, I'm an RN with NYS licensure. I applied online via the Florida Dept of Health for my Florida license. What do I have to do next....contact the NYS dept of education to send my info to Florida? I'm unclear as to what my next step is. I understand about the fingerprinting and continuing education requirements. I'm just not sure what do with regard having my information sent to the Florida Board of Nursing. Thanks - Mike

Ft. Lauderdale RN program recommendation
Hi Purdue, Thanks very much for your reply. It really helped. It seems there's no way out of taking at least a year or two of prereqs. I will have to decide if this is something that makes sense for me.

Ft. Lauderdale RN program recommendation
Thanks FLAgal, I really dislike the idea of having to waste a year taking pre-reqs. before even being accepted into an RN program. I probably don't have any more then 1 or 2 of them. The 1 year may turn into 2 years of just pre-reqs., since I also need to go part time. I don't know whether that would make sense for me. I wish there was a program that allowed me to do it all at once. Thanks for your reply. It definetely helped. Mike -

Ft. Lauderdale RN program recommendation
Hi Jill - Thank you very much for your reply. Thanks for the welcome also. I was hoping to not have to get an Associate's Degree, as I already have my Bachelor's in an unrelated field. But, if there are no more diploma programs, I guess there's no other option. If anyone knows of any evening or weekend programs, I'd appreciate it. Thanks again - Mike.

Ft. Lauderdale RN program recommendation
Hello everyone I'm hoping someone will have some advice for me. I'm a middle aged, male student moving to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida shortly. I'm going to be working full time, and would like to attend school to become an RN during the evenings/weekends. I received my bachelor's in business decades ago, and don't have any of the pre-reqs required for an accelerated BSN, or an alternate Bachelors to RN program. Does anyone have any suggestions as to schools or diploma programs that might be suitable? I don't see any prospects online for evening/weekend programs. Thanks - Mike :)
