Resident was sent to ER seen, diagnosed, ct scan performed there and returned back to LTC where she was suppose to be monitoring...My question is was this poor nursing judgement..

Resident had fall came back with possible concussion and contusion..Nurse stated resident was a little anxious and gave prn ativan 1mg at 1300 and 1700. Resident seemed to calm down and was alert and responsive, propelling himself throught the halls and pretty much preforming adl's with assistance obtained from nursing notes...is it safe to give ativan even when CT scan came back with no acute findings...Mds were given and resident was fine the rest of the night...Was that a poor nursing judgement or was she worried the the increase in anxiety could make the brain worst...I asked did he sleep or appear drowsy she stated no he was up for the 12 hours i've been here..I had given ativan 1mg twice the day before and resident didn't respond well to it..it was given for increased anxiety and worked temporarily..she stated that ativan given would not harm him...

I live in Ga and pearson allows you to recieve unoffical quick results for eight dollars. so now I waiting for the approval from the Ga BON.

So I took my NCLEX PN on 7/24.................I studied all I possible could because at this point it was either I knew it or I didn't. So every day I was on the computer practicing 400 questions a day. So, let me get to the point I figure I'm soooooo ready... Now let me inform you that I have test anxiety. When that first question came on the screen it was like did I even go to nursing school....so i composed myself and did my best.. the computer shut off at 85 question and i'm thinking there's something wrong with the computer but no it was over! I was totally unprepared for how the questions were formatted and i'm thinkin "U FAILED" way to go!!! I finished that test in 40 minutes. those next two days were the absolute worst but hearing the sucess stories of others really made it easier so i want to thank everyone that shares a little of their life here..oh and I PASSED!!!!!!!!! GOD IS SO GOOD!!!!!! :balloons::balloons::balloons::balloons::balloons::balloons:

There is a place called scrubs and beyond at discover mills in lawrenceville, ga. They are very good on price and quality. maybe you can mapquest it. Also, walmart sells scrubs too. Hope this helped you.

thanks so much lucky the pt was not harmed. we just took vitals and when we notified the doctor he was like i'm not worried about that but was glad we called. So we just took vitals on the patient. Nursing is a hard profession i never want feel like this again. this was the worst day.

I'm almost there. i'll be graduating in june from a pratical nursing program. well today i gave a patient 12.5 mg of lopressor too early was suppose to get it q8. so the patient got 12.5 mg at 0530 and at 1030. I reported this to my instrutor and the charge nurse. I feel so bad i started crying. this goes to show my how serious being a nurse is these are peoples lives that are in our hands. Does this make me a bad nurse? I admitted to my mistake and monitored the patient continuously. After reading all these threads i guess i'm not the only one. My instructor wasn't even mad. she just said I would learn from my mistake. i just need some words of encouragement.

Thank you all for great and inspirational responses. I went to talk to the director and one of my clinical instructors about the other choices I have and they were very helpful. They helped me find another school I can transfer into all I need to know is study and pray. But thank you so much may GOD BLESS YOU.

hey there just needed someone to talk to right now. It feels like my world just caved in today. i went to take my med/surg final and failed. i jjust need to know everything will be all right. i really don't know what I'm gonig to do now because i was kicked out the program. I wonder if I'll ever be a nurse.
