I'm wondering where you all buy your uniforms. I love the cut and weight of Deauville scrub sets (11344) and have been buying them at Images near VGH and the Sears at Metrotown (when they're on sale ) But a salesperson at Sears said they wouldn't be ...

I found this at a website via google: http://www.plexoft.com/SBF/R04.html Rx: (Medical) Prescription. From Latin recipe, imperative form of recipere, `to receive, take.' Developed from practice of extending tail of R and crossing it.

Usually loose, mucous-y (think gelatin), unforgettable foul odor, sometimes bloody streaks. When you're sending a spec off for c-diff toxin, you have to send liquid/mucous-y stool.

As I understand it, scrubbing or using soap allows more of the NTG to penetrate your skin. Just rinse it off with water. We make a note on our MARs about where the last site is, so the next nurse knows where to look for it and where not to put the n...
I would've been so tempted to say: "Sure, if you'll give an enema to the patient in room 22 for me..." The visitors where I work are generally very well behaved, but when people do this sort of thing they are directed to the patient kitchen where t...

I'm not sure what you should do next but I have to disagree with NoCrumping here. She's not being a "rat", she's looking out for her patient's wellbeing and trying to ensure that they receive safe nursing care. I think I'd call the BON and ask them...
How much orientation would you consider to be adequate? I am a new grad who has been offered a position on a a geriatric medical ward with 4 days of hospital orientation and 1 day shift and 1 night shift of ward orientation. I did my last semeste...
A vascular surgeon could do sclerotherapy or a mini phlebectomy (just taking out a small portion of the vein and tying off the ends, the scar is about 1cm long)
As a student who will be starting my last semester/preceptorship in January, it is very reassuring to know that I am not alone in being nervous about how well I will fair once I graduate. I think I'll have to re-read this thread once I get into it t...

I've lost 5 lbs so far on Wellbutrin without trying to, it's just killed my appetite. In my case, it took about 5 weeks for me to start feeling the Wellbutrin "kick in". Good luck to everyone who's trying to quit smoking. :)
Another home remedy I've heard about is applying a layer of clear nail polish to the wart. I'm assuming it works in the same way that duct tape does, but I don't know whether nail polish cuts off the air supply. Might be worth a shot though...
*warning - gross* i had a wart on my finger when i was 7 or 8. i'd already had one burned off and didn't want to do that again, so... i bit it off. that sucker bled like crazy and my mom freaked out. she said i'd get warts in my mouth. *eek* the...
Duct tape totally works I tried wart-removers from the drug store, but they didn't work. The duct tape worked in a week or two. Cheap, painless, and cooooool
I'm an RN student finishing the 3rd term of 8 in Vancouver, Canada. I would like to get a part-time or casual position in the healthcare field. I've been told that at this point in the curriculum, I have acquired the skills necessary to work as a P...
WOW! I feel very lucky. At my school we're allowed to wear any colour uniform or scrubs (within reason) and all white shoes (although some clinical facilitators are more lenient than others).
