  1. I know about 4 people who started at Columbia's nursing school with the intention of continuing on through midwifery school and then ended up transferring elsewhere for midwifery. it really does not have a very good reputation in NYC.
  2. well, maybe it is the corporate world for me then! It doesn't make sense for me to get a job now, because I am in school now and I really only need to work over the summer. Also I don't intend to work as a nurse in the long run! Thanks for your responses.
  3. Hi everyone, I need some advice. I'm a recent grad (may '06) who went straight on to midwifery school, so i have zero nursing experience. Here's my problem: I will have to generate some income this summer while my dh is studying for the bar exam. I could just do temp office work, but I'm wondering if anyone can point me to a good temp agency for nursing or health care staffing in nyc? And, of course, I'm wondering what the chances are for me to actually get a temp nursing job without ever having had one before. I was thinking I could do things like chart reviews, where my lack of experience wouldn't be such an issue. But where to find jobs like that? thanks for any ideas...
  4. Hi, I'm new here. I'm finishing my BSN this spring and am applying to a CNM program, hopefully to start this fall. Got called for an interview in a couple of days and suddenly I'm nervous. Does anyone have any insight about midwifery school interviews they could share? What questions can I expect? What should I be sure to mention? What to wear? (only half kidding on that last one - my mom says "midwifey clothes" - what does that mean?) thanks.
