  1. Hi everyone, I'm hoping to get some advice from those who have gone through a similar pathway as an internationally educated nurse. My background: Registered Nurse in Australia (AHPRA registered) ~5 years of experience Primarily in aged care Currently also working as a regulatory officer in disability services My situation: I recently applied for RN licensure by examination in: Oregon New Mexico However, both Boards advised that my education is not substantially equivalent due to lack of clinical/theory hours in areas such as: Obstetrics (OB) Mental Health (and possibly other areas) Because of this, I was not made eligible to sit NCLEX-RN. What I'm considering: I'm now thinking about applying for LPN licensure in Oregon instead, as a lower entry pathway. My questions: Has anyone with a similar background (especially from Australia or similar systems) successfully: Overcome deficiencies without redoing a full nursing program? Completed additional clinical hours separately? Is applying for LPN a realistic workaround, or will I likely face the same issue with deficiencies? Are there any states more flexible with international nurses who lack OB / Mental health components? Any recommendations for bridging or deficiency programs (in the US or overseas)? I'd really appreciate any advice or shared experiences. This process has been quite overwhelming and confusing. Thank you so much in advance 🙏
